MN Ag EXPO 2016 is set for Wednesday and Thursday of next week at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato. The Minnesota Corn Growers Association’s (MCGA) silent fundraising auction kicks off at noon on Wednesday, and the live auction runs from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday.
All proceeds benefit MCGA and are used to advance organizational goals and objectives.
(Note: Funds raised during both auctions are not used for MCGA’s political action committee, aka PAC. There is a separate PAC fundraiser breakfast scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Thursday at EXPO.)
The MCGA live and silent auction features many useful items such as tool sets, seed corn, and children’s toys. There are also many…ahem…unique items. Examples include golf carts, a corn-themed softball jersey and canned bacon.
Yes, canned bacon.
Let’s take a closer look at a few of the items you can bid on next week to help MCGA continue working on behalf of Minnesota’s corn farmers:
This John Deere Johnny Tractor Activity Table would be great for the little ones. While your child or grandchild is coloring, drawing or playing on the table, they’ll always have farming on their mind. (Value: $249.99)
Ride around your farm or your property in style in this red limousine golf cart. The limo cart is also decked out in E85 stickers so you can proudly support homegrown ethanol as your cruise around. (Value: $3,600)
This wooden jewelry and corn-shaped key chain comes straight from Costa Rica. Beautiful! (Value: $63)
This decorative seed bowl will add a little extra pizzaz to every dish you serve. (Value: $80)
We weren’t kidding about the canned bacon. There are 30 slices of bacon in the can — ust pop the top on the can and eat. We’re including a bottle of wine with the canned bacon, because why not? Canned bacon and wine = the perfect date night! (Value: $37)
That’s just a small sample of the many great items that will be up for bid next week at the MCGA live and silent auction. We hope to see as many people as possible at EXPO next week, bidding on these great items and showing their support for Minnesota’s corn farmers.
