After 4 ½ years with the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA), I’m pleased to announce my new role with the organization as the District Field Manager for Territory 3. I will be serving the counties in east central Minnesota surrounding the metro area (see list of counties below). In addition, I will continue to manage MCGA’s Variety Plot Program.
In my previous role as field coordinator, I managed MCGA’s regional representative program and worked closely with our 52 affiliated county organizations. I also managed MCGA’s Agvocate Program and most recently championed the creation of our internship program.
Before joining MCGA, I worked with Syngenta as a seed sales representative and commercial account specialist. Prior to that, I worked with Monsanto as a brand ambassador during the launch of their Genuity brand. Growing up on a corn and soybean farm near Glenville, it was only natural to develop an interest in agriculture—especially through organizations such as 4-H and FFA. That interest lead me to a degree in agricultural education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, which became the catalyst to my career and the platform to which I promote sustainable methods of farming.
Now that my focus is on a smaller geographic area of the state, I look forward to executing MCGA’s strategic plan through building stronger relationships with county boards and helping to strengthen the communities they serve. And just as I’m a proponent of innovative methods to improve the quality and stewardship of corn production, I’m also excited to promote new uses of corn through bio-polymers and green chemistry.
