The Minnesota Corn Growers Association partnered with Twin Cities Road Crew this summer to bring the corn-themed fun to metro area events. First up was the Aquatennial, which brings thousands to downtown Minneapolis for the official celebration of the city.
The Twin Cities Road Crew, along with Maizey, setup for the pre-fireworks Kid Zone earlier this month to share fun corn facts and the importance of Minnesota’s corn sector with attendees prior to the massive fireworks show. The group passed out corn-themed prizes to visiting kids and held a number of impromptu dance competitions featuring Maizey.
Overall, it was a great opportunity to engage with metro area families about the impact of corn farming in Minnesota prior to the largest fireworks show of the year in Minneapolis.
Next up for the Twin Cities Road Crew is the Minnesota State Fair for A-Maize-Ing Corn Day, held at the Christensen Farms Stage from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Aug. 24. The group will also be returning to the fairgrounds to share their corn knowledge during Pumpkin Nights, held on select nights in October.
