My name is Tanner Sanborn and I am the new district field manager for southeastern Minnesota, otherwise known as Field District 5 (See the list below for my specific counties). I grew up on a farm outside of Mazeppa and have lived and worked in Southeast Minnesota for most of my life.

Agriculture has also been a big part of my life growing up and in my career to date. I was very active in 4-H in middle school and then FFA in high school. I was elected President of my local FFA chapter my senior year and in college went on to get my American FFA degree.

For college, I attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. During that time, I was employed at SEMA equipment in several different roles including parts, marketing and precision ag. I went on to graduate with a degree in agricultural business with an emphasis in marketing. After graduation I was given the opportunity to work at Jennie-O Turkey Store in their Live Production Unit.

Starting with the Minnesota Corn Growers Association earlier this month, I could not have been more excited to join the team.

I look forward to all of the interaction with people in my new role, and am excited to be able to give back to the agricultural community that has given me so many opportunities in the past. I am eager to work with members of the ag community in my counties to create better opportunities for corn farmers.

Only a week into my new position, I have already seen the impact of MCGA and its members, and all they do to benefit our ag sector. I have very much enjoyed working with the other district field managers and staff, as they prepare me to do the best job possible. I look forward to learning more in the future here and helping out any way I can.
