Farmers across Minnesota have been delving into a series of seminars called ‘Nitrogen Smart’, supported by Minnesota Corn Growers Association. The seminars, hosted by Minnesota Agriculture Water Resource Center (MAWRC), are presented by experts from University of Minnesota Extension.

Great River Greening

MCGA and Great River Greening partner on water quality

In its 21 years, Great River Greening has worked primarily on wildlife habitat restoration, marshaling 39,000 community volunteers to help restore 18,000 acres of Minnesota prairies and forests.

Nitrogen Smart workshops are coming to your area

University of Minnesota Extension invites growers to attend one of several upcoming Nitrogen Smart workshops.

Nitrogen Smart focuses on fundamentals for maximizing economic return on nitrogen investments and minimizing nitrogen losses. Each workshop is tailored to fit that specific region of the state.

“The goal of these sessions is to help farmers gain a better understanding of how to manage nitrogen more effectively,” says Brad Carlson, University of Minnesota Extension educator and workshop presenter.
