Shakopee, Minn., January 15, 2010 – Michael Walters was so sure he wouldn’t win he almost didn’t fill out the registration form. But at the urging of his wife Peggy, Walters went ahead and did so, and came home with a new Honda Rubicon four-wheeler for his efforts.

The four-wheeler give-away was sponsored by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) as a way to promote membership in the organization. The promotion was held in conjunction with MN Ag EXPO, MCGA’s annual meeting and convention, held recently at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel.

The two-day event, hosted jointly by MCGA and the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association featured the largest trade show in the event’s history, educational speakers and a gubernatorial forum that attracted nine candidates seeking the state’s highest office.

Walters, a corn and soybean farmer from Boyd Minnesota and a current MCGA member, says he has never owned an ATV before, but is eager to begin using it.  “I figured I had a better chance of winning the lottery than winning the ATV,” said Walters, “Good thing Peggy was with me – I guess you never can tell what your luck will be like.”
