MCGA partners with WCCO to bring Farmfest Gubernatorial Candidate Forum to statewide audience

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Candidates to be the next governor of Minnesota will make the trip to Gilfillian Estates on Wednesday, Aug. 8, for the Minnesota Gubernatorial Candidate Forum. Sponsored by the IDEAg Group, the forum is scheduled for 10:30-11:50 a.m. in the Wick Building on the Farmfest grounds and will be broadcast live by WCCO News Radio.

As the official broadcast partner of WCCO’s live coverage from Farmfest, the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) looks forward to the opportunity to raise awareness about the issues impacting Minnesota agriculture.

“Farmfest will be the perfect setting for each gubernatorial candidate to talk about issues directly affecting corn farmers and their families,” MCGA President Kirby Hettver said. “We’re proud to help make this broadcast a reality and look forward to learning more about where each candidate stands on topics that impact agriculture in our state.”

Moderated by WCCO News Radio’s Dave Lee and Blois Olson from Fluence Media, the forum will be an excellent opportunity for a large, statewide audience to hear from each candidate on issues important to agriculture leading into the following week’s primary elections.

MCGA’s partnership with WCCO continues to build on the MN Corn Grows MN campaign, an effort to foster stronger relationships with candidates for elected office  and to increase dialogue about the importance of corn and corn farming in our state.

In addition to forum, WCCO News Radio will also be broadcasting live from the MCGA tent the morning of Aug. 8. Be sure to follow the MCGA blog, Twitter and Facebook pages for more exciting developments as we move closer to Farmfest.
