MCGA returns to MN Ag EXPO with an exciting story to share

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) will yet again have a large presence at MN Ag EXPO 2019, held in Mankato Jan. 23-24 at the Verizon Wireless Center. Located in booth 58, MCGA will be sharing how corn growers are investing in a more sustainable future for fellow farmers and all Minnesotans

Launched in 2017, the “MN Corn Grows MN” initiative has continued to raise awareness around the vital role corn farming plays in the overall well-being of our state. Through their investment in the corn check-off, corn farmers are spearheading efforts that increase profitability on the farm, protect our state’s natural resources and contribute to rural and metro economies.

A seven-foot-tall video board will span the width of the booth to help share that story, including how corn growers are championing sustainable farm practices, spurring economic development, supporting rural communities, reinforcing the urban job market and strengthening Minnesota agriculture.

MCGA district field managers and grower leaders will also be present throughout the two-day trade show to chat with farmers about how their investment in the corn check-off is building a more profitable future on the farm. A few examples they look forward to discussing is the incredible growth of ethanol infrastructure in our state, exciting new research that will grow corn demand, and advocacy efforts at the State Capitol and in Washington.

The MCGA booth will also be the place to sign up as a member of MCGA, or to renew your membership. As a grassroots organization, MCGA depends on its members to serve as both champions of Minnesota’s corn sector and advocates to address the issues impacting farms and rural communities.

Also taking place at MN Ag EXPO, MCGA’s annual meeting will be held the morning of Jan. 23. All members are encouraged to attend for a comprehensive update on MCGA activities, elections, resolutions and more. That evening, MCGA will be hosting a reception to honor grassroots efforts by MCGA members through their county corn organizations. Join us to celebrate the successes of your local county organizations, and gather ideas about different activities and initiatives that could be implemented through your local county corn organization. MCGA’s silent auction will also be open during the county reception, which will feature complimentary food and beverages.
