As we approach Election Day next week, I know tensions are high regardless of which side of the aisle you are on. When it comes to advocating for what we believe is right, Minnesotans have shown we are a passionate bunch.

I hope that passion turns into another nation-leading turnout by voters this general election. For residents of Greater Minnesota like myself, it is vital we make our voices heard by going to the polls (or taking part in early voting). If you have any questions about where you can vote, please click here.

I also hope we can hold that same passion in check when it comes to our conversations with people who may not hold the same political beliefs. Social media can quickly become a toxic environment, and no one wins when we resort to attacking each other over Twitter or Facebook. Following the sage advice from the Center for Food Integrity, arguing only deepens the divide between us, and there is no shame in walking away from a conversation that turns unproductive.

I hope you all are enjoying a bountiful harvest and look forward to seeing you in person again soon.
