Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Minnesota Corn Research & Promotion Council (MCR&PC) held elections this spring. Here are the MCR&PC election results: Doug Albin (District 1, 2 & 4), Duane Epland (District 8) and Scott Winslow (District 9) were re-elected, and John Mages (District 3, 5 & 6) was newly elected to MCR&PC.

Mages grows corn and soybeans in Belgrade and previously served as president of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association. Albin farms in Clarkfield, Epland in Twin Lakes, and Winslow in Fountain.

The MCR&PC consists of 11 corn farmers elected from throughout the state. Positions are three-year terms.

The MCR&PC administers the efficient and effective investment of Minnesota’s corn check-off, a one-cent fee assessed at the first point of sale for every bushel of corn sold in Minnesota. Check-off funds are used to help corn farmers create new markets, increase productivity and profitability, improve water quality and environmental stewardship, and build a positive image for corn farming in Minnesota.
