MN Corn-supported webinars offer ethanol insights

A Minnesota Corn-supported webinar series is providing international buyers and government officials with key information about ethanol.
The “Everything Ethanol” series is hosted by the Northern Crops Institute (NCI), which is based at North Dakota State University in Fargo. The series is highlighting ethanol’s benefits, providing an overview of global ethanol demand, offering insights into effective marketing strategies, and more.
Minnesota Corn is supporting the webinar series as part of our mission to develop markets for corn and corn products. To advance the global ethanol market, the series provides information and resources to key stakeholders throughout the world. The information could spur ethanol sales and policies that boost demand for the biofuel. The series provides resources and information to advance global ethanol market development.
So far, the webinars have drawn participants from the U.S., Guatemala, India, China, Taiwan, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Costa Rica, and the Philippines. Participants include representatives of energy buying concerns and government officials, as well as other ethanol marketing professionals.
The next webinar, set for Dec. 21, will cover best practices for ocean transportation of ethanol. The speaker will be Henry David Gómez Caicedo, a market analyst focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean for SGS INSPIRE. The firm that specializes in the analysis of markets for liquid fuels and industrial liquids.
Gómez Caicedo will share his insights about communicating ethanol’s benefits to potential buyers. That includes ethanol’s status as a ‘near drop-in fuel’ to blend with gasoline and a low-carbon element that answers the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and perhaps most important of all, that ethanol production and transportation are well-proven technologies.
Gomez-Caicedo has nine years of experience researching, planning, pricing, forecasting, and analyzing global markets, and previously worked as an oil industry market analyst.
