The 2022 Census of Agriculture is in full swing. “I encourage producers to review the materials that arrived in the mail in late December. We hope to receive as many returns as possible by February 6, 2023.” said Dan Lofthus, Minnesota State Statistician for USDA NASS. “If you have already responded, thank you so much for participating!”

Complete the 2022 Census of Agriculture using the online questionnaire. It’s secure and user friendly, with features such as skipping questions that don’t pertain to you, pre-filling information and calculating totals.

“Last week, I talked to several people who used the online tool and they had good things to say about the experience. An added benefit, it saves postage and reduces the cost”, said Lofthus. “If going on-line is not your favorite thing, fill out that paper form and send it in. The goal is to provide options that make this project as easy as possible for producers.”

The Census of Agriculture remains the nation’s only comprehensive data for every state, county, and territory. Farms of all sizes that produced and sold $1,000 or more of agricultural products in 2022 are included. The data inform decisions about policy, programs, rural development, research, and more.

Include your operation to represent the full scope of Minnesota Agriculture in the results. Thank you!
