With the cancellation of Farmfest, the Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center (UMASH) has adapted to the virtual times of today with the UMASH Online Expo, beginning Aug. 11. The three-day online event will bring the quality, safety-focused content farmers have expected from the “Health and Safety” pavilion on the Farmfest grounds to an online setting.

UMASH Online Expo: A 20/20 Look at Ag Health, Safety and Wellness will feature over 40 exhibitors, live demonstrations each day, and live health talks.

“The Health and Safety Pavilion is a big event for us each year, and we knew when that was no longer going to happen we had to have a similar event online,” said UMASH Outreach Coordinator Megan Schossow. “We also knew we didn’t want to do something passive, and we are excited about what we have been able to do.”

Each day is filled with a number of engaging events, including nearly six hours of live programming each day with opportunities for attendees to interact with the presenters. From COVID-19 prevention to building resiliency to on-farm child safety and more, there are myriad topics for farmers to choose from over the three days.

Safety demos will also move to the virtual world during the UMASH Online Expo, each held over the noon hour. Tuesday will focus on grain bin safety, Wednesday is power take-off (PTO) and livestock safety and Thursday will cover ATV safety for adults and youth.

A virtual exhibitor floor will also be open each day, featuring organizations specializing in child safety, general health and wellness, research and more.
