The Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) will be co-hosting a series of debates between candidates for the United States House of Representatives airing on WCCO Radio prior to the Nov. 3 election. The partnership is the latest by MCGA elevating the issues most important to the state’s corn farmers, their families and rural communities.

Listen to the debate and forums live here. All debates scheduled to date (see below) will air on WCCO Radio, as well as stream on Facebook Live:

First Congressional District Forum featuring Rep. Jim Hagedorn and Dan Feehan
Oct. 18 at 1 p.m.

Eighth Congressional District Debate featuring Rep. Pete Stauber and Quinn Nustrom
Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.

Through the “MN Corn Grows MN” campaign, MCGA is raising awareness of the importance of Minnesota’s ag sector and the issues that impact its future with candidates taking part in both state and federal elections. U.S. House and Senate debates will be an opportunity to hear from candidates on these topics while raising awareness of their importance with a statewide audience via WCCO Radio.

“This election season arrives as farmers continue to battle through a depressed farm economy impacted by a number of issues on both the state and federal level,” MCGA President Les Anderson said. “We are proud to co-host these debates and provide a forum for each candidate to share how they will represent not only agriculture, but also our Greater Minnesota communities.”

As co-host of each debate, MCGA will have the opportunity to highlight the many ways corn farmers are helping the state grow economically, environmentally and sustainably on WCCO’s airwaves, and will be included in WCCO’s on-air and online promotion of the debate in the days leading up to the event.
