Maizey, TC Road Crew take over Sever’s Fall Festival

The Twin Cities Road Crew brought the corn-themed fun to Sever’s Fall Festival during two weekends in September. Visitors to the popular fall family destination participated in fun contests, received giveaways and enjoyed performances featuring everyone’s favorite mascot, Maizey—all while learning about our state’s corn farmers.
The Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) partners with Twin Cities Road Crew to hold corn-themed assemblies at schools and events throughout the Twin Cities metro. With school assemblies on hold this year, the Road Crew has been traveling to events where they can still reach families and kids with their unique corn-themed entertainment.
At Sever’s Fall Festival, attendees were encouraged to scan the below QR code before setting out on the Sever’s corn maze and participate in the Corn Maze Challenge. Participants found and took pictures of different corn varieties and farm equipment while learning how corn is grown. Hundreds of attendees took advantage and received fun MCGA giveaways for participating.

Prior to their appearance at Sever’s, the Road Crew also posted a series of videos on its Facebook page sharing the different varieties of corn and other fun corn facts. The videos were a fun way to reach an audience beyond Sever’s attendees.
Made possible by farmers’ investment in the Minnesota corn check-off, MCGA supports the Twin Cities Road Crew to share information about the importance of corn farming with the non-farming public, including metro residents.
