Minneapolis served as the host for the U.S. Grains Council’s (USGC) Export Exchange in 2018, when nearly 450 buyers from around the world came together to learn about the quality of American grain and potential of ethanol. This year’s version of the event will go on, but it has moved to the virtual world.

The 2020 Virtual Grain Exchange will take place next week with the same goals and the potential to reach even more prospective buyers with the online event. Like in 2018, Minnesota Corn partnered with USGC to share information about Minnesota’s ag sector and biofuel industry. Instead of in-person tours, Minnesota Corn worked with farmers to film video tours that showcase our state’s corn supply and the distribution channels that move it to customers worldwide.

The Linder Farm Network joined Minnesota Corn directors as they filmed a virtual tour of their operation and discussed the importance of the effort in expanding export markets. The state’s corn farmers support USGC and efforts like the Virtual Exchange through their investment in the Minnesota corn check-off. With nearly a third of Minnesota’s corn crop going to exports, strengthening relations abroad is vital.
