Email completed forms to MCGA’s Director of Grower Services and Operations, Missy Gilbertson, at gilbertson@mncorn.org.
There are four council seats up for election in 2023.
- One in District 1/2/4 (northwestern MN),
- one in District 7 (southwestern MN),
- one in District 8 (south-central MN),
- and one in district 9 (southeastern MN).
See the district maps here. You can only run for the seat in the district in which you live.
Council membership is open to farmers who are at least 18 years old, grow corn in Minnesota, and pay into the Minnesota corn check-off. Here, you can find the state statute providing full information on eligibility.
Council members must attend joint MCR&PC and Minnesota Corn Growers Association meetings, held five times each year. They’re also asked to join one focus team; Discovery & Development, Membership and Consumer Engagement, or Utilization. Council terms are three years.
In March, MCR&PC ballots will be mailed to growers who participated in the 2022 MCR&PC election. Growers who did not vote in last year’s election can request a ballot by calling the MCGA office at 952-233-0333. Ballots include only the candidates running to represent your district. We will announce election results in the spring.
