Introducing Emily Burns, MCGA’s new District 2 field manager
Hello everyone! I am Emily Burns, the new District 2 Field Manager for Minnesota Corn.
I grew up south of Stewart on a hardworking family farm where we currently raise corn and soybeans. I also help soil sample for my family’s business. I have been involved on the farm since I was very young and enjoy the country lifestyle. In high school, I was a member of our FFA Chapter and 4-H. I enjoyed showing projects at the county and state fair.
I recently graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a degree in Agriculture Communications and minors in Public Relations and Ag Business. During college, I was the president of the Ag Club, a member of the cheer team and was on the student activities committee. I was also the student coordinator for SMSU’s annual Ag Bowl, an event put on for FFA members to practice contests for State.
When I am not working, I enjoy staying busy on the farm, going up to the lake, spending time with friends and family, and traveling! I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to serving Minnesota’s corn growers. I am excited to start working with the District 2 counties and begin making connections.
