This month, Minnesota Corn is excited to welcome Luke Haggerty as its new District Field Manager (DFM) for District 1, which encompasses northwestern Minnesota. Luke began the role last week, and will succeed Marlene Dufault, who is retiring later this month after 11 years with Minnesota Corn.

Luke has spent over 14 years working directly with farmers, helping them achieve their goals and supporting their success. His experiences include providing recommendations on soil health, promoting the benefits of cover crops, and serving as a trusted advocate for the farms he has worked with. Through his roles in Extension and Grower Relations, Luke has gained valuable insights into addressing the unique challenges farmers face while promoting sustainability and productivity.

Luke holds a Master of Science in Applied Plant Science from the University of Minnesota, where he focused on plant breeding and genetics. He also served in the military with the 82nd Airborne and the Minnesota National Guard from 1999 to 2008.

Growing up in rural Browns Valley, Minnesota, Luke developed a deep appreciation for agriculture and its vital role in communities. He is passionate about building connections and advocating for farmers, ensuring they have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.
