What to expect from Minnesota Corn at MN Ag EXPO 2022

MN Ag EXPO returns to the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato on Wednesday-Thursday, and the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) will once again be a can’t miss stop.
MCGA is excited to share the many ways our corn growers are building a sustainable future for the state’s ag sector and all Minnesotans. From exciting research developments to important advocacy efforts, the last year has been a busy one in the world of corn. Stop by the MCGA booth to catch up on the latest by chatting with an MCGA grower-leader.
Here’s a rundown of what you can expect from MCGA, in addition to business meetings and learning sessions, over the course of the two-day event.
At the MCGA booth
Learn more about MCGA’s Better Fuel Initiative and its mission to further increase awareness, understanding and usage of biofuels in Minnesota.
In 2021, Minnesota Corn elevated the Better Fuel Initiative with new advertisements featuring KFAN “Power Trip” morning show co-host and producer Chris Hawkey that played across Minnesota. In 2022, look for more fuel-promotion events, as well as outreach featuring Hawkey, on your favorite media channels.
See how your Minnesota corn check-off investment is at work through research, promotion and outreach efforts that aim to ensure long-term environmental and economic sustainability on the farm. Additionally, learn how corn farmers and their families are promoting rural development, building relationships abroad, investing in conservation-minded research and much more.

Join MCGA! Renew your membership or become a member of MCGA, and receive a custom MCGA-branded five-gallon bucket as a thank-you gift. New and renewing MCGA members who sign up will get a free five-gallon MCGA bucket.

Research
On Wednesday, University of Minnesota researchers will be on hand at MN Ag EXPO to chat with farmers about corn check-off-supported research projects. Each year, Minnesota Corn invests nearly $2.6 million in research aimed at improving agricultural practices and creating new markets for corn and corn-based products.
On Thursday, Innovation Grant recipients will be at MN Ag EXPO to talk about their projects.
In 2021, Minnesota Corn funded 26 research projects; they included initiatives to develop practices for integrating cover crops and manure; assess Minnesota’s soil mineralogy and its impacts on fertilizer guidelines; and study how conservation practices affect soil health in western Minnesota.
