Joe Grote, Big Woods Beef
Joe Grote grew up a hog farmer and built a direct market beef business where all of his cattle are sold direct to consumers. During his presentation, Grote will share his story of how he grew a hobby into a significant revenue source while discussing the challenges and opportunities in this business.
Mike Johnston, River View Veggie
Growing up in the country where his family had draft horses, Mike Johnston developed a passion for farming. A Pioneer agronomist by day and farmer’s market/ag tourism fanatic by night, Johnston sells produce at his stand, farmer’s markets, in addition to a pumpkin patch, sunflower garden and corn maize. During his keynote, Mike will discuss the good and the bad of his farmer’s market obsession.
